WRITER. ONCOLOGY EXPERT.
All-around problem solver.
You probably don't know many writers with this oncology experience.
Kurt has been writing and thinking about oncology for nearly his entire adult life. He started out managing a leading cancer journal and wrote grants at City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center, before moving into medical copywriting. Having worked on more than two dozen oncology brands, Kurt has been instrumental in creating the positioning, messaging, and concepts for multiple well-known cancer drugs. His combination of creativity and intelligence allows him to deliver consistently distinctive, insightful work. He knows how to explain complex science to a range of audiences. He’s even taught a class at agencies called Oncology 101.
That's not all he does...
His range of knowledge extends beyond the confines of oncology: in fact, he’s a two-time Jeopardy! champion and has been the phone-a-friend on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? (Yes, he got the question right.) He’s an award-winning children’s book author (Tooth Fairies and Jetpacks), and he cowrote a feature comedy that had its theatrical debut in 2023 (Viral Vignettes). His next ambitious creative project is the horror film Exit Zero.
What does that mean for you?
It means he is comfortable working – and has worked – across the gamut of therapeutic categories from rare diseases like aHUS and PNH to the not-so-rare, like diabetes and high cholesterol. He’s also worked extensively in global health in areas such as vaccines and pneumonia. And that comfort with the science doesn’t make him any less creative.
